Learning to laugh at yourself - the death of Harvey Korman

Harvey Korman, who died today at age 81, appeared in a series films as "Blazing Saddles" and "High Anxiety" (not to mention his voiceover work as the Great Gazoo, or unknown role in "Star Wars Holiday Special"). And for a lot of fans he will be remembered as much for form as both laughed as was able to laugh at himself.
" The Insider" confirmed the sad news of the protagonist of "The Carol Burnett Show." The actor and comedian died at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles after suffering a ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm several months ago.
Carol Burnett released the following exclusive statement to "The Insider" through his representative: "I'm devastated. I enjoyed it very much."
His colleague at "The Carol Burnett Show, Vicki Lawrence said:" It was lucky I was an idiot for even 18 years could be in the greatest sketch comedy of all time. Harvey Korman was a mentor and a friend me. It is impossible not to learn from him, if only by osmosis. The Comedy was a very serious work for Harvey ... "

leaves a wife, Deborah, four children and three grandchildren. UCLA also said his family "thank you all for your support during this difficult time," and noted that a memorial service was held for Korman, but it will be private.
